Redlands
Sister Cities Association
Redlands Sister Cities Association is a non-profit
organization that cooperates with the City of Redlands to
foster increased international understanding and friendships.
The City of Redlands is located in Southern
California approximately 60 miles east of Los Angeles.
It is known for the high quality navel organs grown in the
area, it many Victorian homes and it fine university.
The Redlands Sister City program began in 1963 when Hino,
Japan, became our first Sister City. San Miguel de Allende,
Mexico, became our second Sister city in 1967.
Throughout the years, there have been many visits involving
friends from Redlands, Hino, and San Miguel de Allende. In
the future, we anticipate professional and civic exchanges
with firemen, teachers and medical personnel in addition to
our student program.
Your membership will help our program grow and give you the
opportunity to make new friends. General membership meetings
are held three times a year. The board of directors meets
monthly.
Student Exchanges:
Since 1988 Redlands and Hino have had a high school exchange
receiving from Hino one year and sending students to Hino
the next. 1995 marks the beginning of a similar program with
San Miguel de Allende. Students apply for the privilege to
represent Redlands and are chosen on merit by the Sister Cities
Association. The students are chaperoned and must earn money
for their travel. Redlands
